INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana University Health has appointed Ron Stiver to the newly created position of president, System Clinical Services.
Since joining IU Health in 2009, Stiver has served as the academic health system's senior vice president of Engagement and Strategy, a role in which he developed IU Health’s capabilities in key areas such as customer experience, marketing and communications, business-to-business and home care services. He also served as the primary architect of IU Health's five-year system strategy.
In his new role as president of System Clinical Services, Stiver will be responsible for the strategy, growth and operations of IU Health's ambulatory and continuity services, which include services such as ambulatory surgery centers, home health, critical care transport, retail pharmacies, sports performance and telemedicine. He and his team will focus on delivering integrated, high-quality and cost-effective care and service.
“Ron is uniquely qualified to lead such a complex undertaking,” said Daniel F. Evans, Jr., president and chief executive officer, IU Health. “He has done an exemplary job of designing our strategic architecture and building our capabilities as a leading healthcare system.”
Before joining IU Health, Stiver served as commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). His total transformation of that agency was recognized by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators in 2008 with its Exceptional Customer Service Award. Prior to that, he reorganized Indiana's state-run workforce development system to a regionally-driven system, shifting millions of dollars from administration and overhead to training.
Stiver earned his bachelor's degree in economics from DePauw University and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
He is a current board member of Special Olympics of Indiana, Indy Partnership, United Way’s Ready to Learn; Ready to Earn, Leadership Edge, WGU Indiana and Immaculate Heart of Mary.
An executive search will be conducted for Stiver’s former role of senior vice president of Engagement and Strategy.
