A New Albany-based adoption organization has merged with a nonprofit in Louisville. The combination of St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities and Adoption Bridges of Kentucky is now known as Adoption Bridges of Kentuckiana. September 25, 2014

NEW ALBANY, Ind. and LOUISVILLE, Ken. – St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities in New Albany, Indiana and Adoption Bridges of Kentucky, located in Louisville, are pleased to announce the merger of their organizations to better serve adoption clients now and in the future.

St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities and Adoption Bridges of Kentucky, to be known as Adoption Bridges of Kentuckiana, will be able to combine their services to continue to provide adoptive families with placements, but they will be able to better serve the birth parent population in providing for resources. St. Elizabeth has three residential programs, a distribution program, and licensed counselors and case managers on staff that birth mothers and adoptive children will now have lifelong access too.

St. Elizabeth and Adoption Bridges will continue to focus on providing comprehensive, confidential services for birth parents, children, and adoptive families. Adoption services will continue to be offered at the Kentucky and Indiana locations. Staff will continue in their roles to provide the same high quality adoption services the community has come to expect. Learn more at www.StECharities.org.

About St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities

St. Elizabeth's opened in May 1989 as a crisis pregnancy center. Today, St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities provides 9 different programs to the community. These services include: an Adoption Program licensed in both Kentucky and Indiana, an Emergency Maternity Home, a Transitional Shelter, Affordable Supportive Housing, Marie's Ministries for community distribution of mom and baby items, Mental Health Counseling, a Supported Living Program, CASA in Floyd and Washington Counties, and Supervised Visitation. St. Elizabeth provides adoption services such as home studies for both domestic and international placements, post placement supervisions and lifelong counseling and support for birthmothers and adoptive families. St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities is a COA accredited agency and has served families throughout Southern Indiana and the Louisville Metro area for 25 years.

About Adoption Bridges of Kentucky

Adoption Bridges of Kentucky is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which focuses on domestic adoption. Founded in 2006, the licensed agency provides a full scope of services for both birth parents and adoptive parents throughout Kentucky. Birth parents' services are provided free of charge and include counseling, advocacy, adoption planning, choice of adoptive parents, assistance with pregnancy expenses, and legal representation for termination of parental rights. Adoptive parents' services consist of consultation, application processing, home studies, adoption preparation, orientation and training, foster certification, showing profiles to birth parents, counseling and advocacy, post-placement supervision, and court reports to help finalize the adoption.
