NEW ALBANY, Ind. – On October 3, manufacturers will come together to educate the public, with an emphasis on students, about the numerous opportunities available in the region's modern, diverse manufacturing market. The celebration of National Manufacturing Day will begin with a press conference at the Perkins Technology Center at the Ivy Tech Jeffersonville Campus, followed by student and public tours of the center and its mobile STEM training laboratory. Students, educators and the public will then be able to take advantage of open houses and tours being provided by several local manufacturers.
Regional Partners in this effort include: Greater Clark County Schools, Indiana WorkOne, Indiana Works Councils, Ivy Tech Community College, Knight School of Welding, New Albany-Floyd County Schools, One Southern Indiana's Metro Manufacturing Alliance, Prosser Career Education Center, Purdue University, Sullivan College of Technology and Design, and the Transformation Network. Also invited to participate in the event are Indiana University Southeast and West Clark Community Schools.
