Richmond Group Requests Restoration FundsPosted: Updated:
Richmond Columbian Properties is asking the local Redevelopment Commission for more than $200,000 to rescue two historic properties. The group wants to stabilize and preserve the buildings. The Palladium-Item reports both properties are located in a tax increment financing district, which allows the city to collect higher taxes on property in the area.
Richmond Columbian Properties is a non-profit organization which advocates for community and neighborhood investment.
The group owns the William G. Scott House at 204 N. 10th Street in Richmond, which is the same neighborhood where the two buildings the organization is trying save are located.
A decision on the money requested is expected during Wednesday's meeting.
