FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In 2010, Allen County officials set aside funds for land banking after recognizing that the community was lacking large tracts of development-ready land. In 2010, the Allen County Redevelopment Commission purchased land that was formerly called Silverado Industrial Park, off of I-69 near General Motors and Vera Bradley.
“Government cannot create jobs, what government can do is create an environment conducive for the creation of jobs by the private sector,” said Rich Beck, President of the Allen
County Redevelopment Commission. “Stonebridge Business Park is about creating that environment.”
The Allen County Redevelopment Commission invested over $6 million after the purchase of the land. This investment went towards constructing new streets, extending water and sewer
lines, and designing a regional storm water system, to eliminate the need for individual lot owners to install retention ponds. The land was then renamed from Silverado Industrial Park to
Stonebridge Business Park and contains 12 shovel-ready lots, allowing for up to 124 contiguous acres. Individual lots are approximately 10 acres per parcel.
“Stonebridge Business Park is another reminder of what our community leaders are doing to
make Allen County abetter place for businesses to call home,” stated Mark Becker, CEO of Greater Fort Wayne Inc. “The new business park is a great tool for retaining and expanding
new businesses.”
In 2014, County officials announced the expansion of Lafayette Center Road between I-69 and
US 24 in Roanoke. The new expansion will add connectivity to Stonebridge Business Park, improving the transportation infrastructure which will help to attract more companies looking to locate operations in Allen County.
