Mishawaka-based Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health says the previously-announced closure of its emergency care center on the Lafayette central campus will occur next week. The acute medical units, intensive care and emergency departments will move to the system's Lafayette East location. Editor's Note: A previous version of the story incorrectly stated the Lafayette campus will close.

News Release

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health will close the Emergency Care Center at St. Elizabeth Central and move all emergency services to St. Elizabeth East, located at 1701 S. Creasy Lane, Lafayette. The St. Elizabeth Central Emergency Care Center will permanently close its doors at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014. The Emergency Care Center at St. Elizabeth East will continue to see patients and will operate with no interruptions during the transition. All services offered by the St. Elizabeth Central Emergency Care Center will also relocate.

The move was originally announced on April 22, 2014. Since the announcement, construction and modifications have been completed at the St. Elizabeth East Emergency Care Center, 1701 S. Creasy Lane.

The Center of Hope, a service for victims of sexual assault, moved to the East campus on Aug. 21.
