Several steel companies with connections to Indiana are receiving national attention from a major industry trade publication. American Metal Market has honored businesses including South Bend-based Steel Warehouse Co. and Berlin Metals LLC in Hammond. Steel Warehouse has been named Large Service Center of The Year and Berlin Metals has received the 2014 Service Center of the Year award in the small/medium category.

Illinois-based Scrap Metal Services LLC, which has multiple parent and subsidiary operations in northwest Indiana and South Bend was named Large Scrap Company of the Year.

Nucor Corp, which has a presence in four Indiana communities, was selected as Steel Producer of the Year.

ArcelorMittal, which has operations in Burns Harbor and East Chicago, took home top honors in the Best Innovation: Process category.
