Hospital Buys Land Along West Lafayette Corridor

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health announced today (Wednesday, Aug. 20) that it has finalized its purchase of 28.3 acres in West Lafayette.
The property is located on the northeast corner of the new U.S. 231 and Cumberland Avenue. Currently, the land is used for agricultural purposes.
“We have been looking for possible sites to purchase in West Lafayette since we announced the purchase of property for St. Elizabeth East in 2006,” said Terry Wilson, president and CEO of Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health. “We understand that our presence in West Lafayette is very important to our patients, physicians and community members. With the opening of the new U.S. 231 extension and the recent annexation by the City of West Lafayette, we are certain that this location has tremendous growth opportunities for Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health.
“The potential for a West Lafayette presence has been a major component of our strategic growth strategy for many years,” continued Wilson. “We continue to look for new opportunities to better serve patients and residents in West Lafayette, western and southern Tippecanoe County and surrounding counties. We believe the West Lafayette property will provide convenient access to healthcare services for these areas.”

Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health is working with its physician partners, the City of West Lafayette and other entities to determine which services will be located at the site.
Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health and Franciscan Physician Network currently have West Lafayette offices at 915 Sagamore Parkway West.
