The group says the move will create operational efficiencies. According to CIRTA, riders in both Carmel and Fishers will be given surveys today to help the group determine future bus schedules.
The Fishers Town Council has agreed to subsidize the bus service. It has approved giving CIRTA $22,500 to keep the bus running through the end of the year.
CIRTA says the Carmel City Council considered providing $30,000 to help with the costs to run the route, however, the matter was deferred to the finance committee.
The committee will consider the request at its meeting Aug. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
