The Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission will consider giving preliminary approval Wednesday. Ohio-based Cardinal Health 414 LLC wants tax breaks on a 64,000 square-foot warehouse and new equipment needed to manufacture its new cancer drug.
The company already makes the drug in its northwest side facility, however, it has outgrown its space.
The second company seeking tax abatement is Becknell Industrial LLC, which specializes in developing and managing industrial properties.
Becknell wants to invest $26 million to build three warehouses, including one 266,400 square-foot building and two that are each about 125,000 square-feet.
Cardinal expects to hire 85 employees, while Becknell predicts hiring more than 100.
Public hearings for both companies are scheduled in September.
