The terminal parking garage at Indianapolis International Airport is getting a facelift. Improvements over the next six months will include replacing staircases in the garage atrium to and remodeling elevators. August 18, 2014

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Taking advantage of the closest parking to the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) terminal will become an even smoother process thanks to several initiatives underway in the Terminal Garage. The projects, which will be completed over the next six months, will make improvements to several features important to enhancing the customer experience in the Terminal Garage.

“Our guests deserve to enjoy a world-class product in all phases of their airport experience here,” said Michael Wells, president of the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) board. “This process will result in several important improvements.”

Enhancements will include concrete repair, the replacement of all six staircases surrounding the garage atrium, rehabilitation of elevators, and other measures that will help ensure the parking garage remains in efficient operating condition. The projects will be coordinated to avoid any substantial impact on the number of public parking spaces available in the facility, which is one of the largest open garages in the state. It was constructed from 2006 to 2008.

“These are the latest in a series of enhancements to our parking products and services,” said Mario Rodriquez, executive director of the IAA. “They include the recent addition of QR parking location codes in the Terminal Garage and Economy Lot, real-time Economy Lot shuttle bus tracking, and the popular parkIND Plus® loyalty program, which allows guests to earn free parking when parking at IND.”
