Construction is underway on a $36 million continuing care community in West Lafayette. The 54-unit Terraces of Westminster Village will include a 24,000-square-foot fitness and wellness center. News Release

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Westminster Village, a West Lafayette continuing care community at 1741 N. Salisbury, will break ground this summer on a 24,000-square-foot fitness and wellness center and the first of three new residential buildings coming to its 42-acre campus.

The fitness center will be open to all residents and offer exercise equipment, group classes and educational programs, said Dawn Walker, director of sales and marketing. “Our residents like to keep active and stay healthy, and this will be a center for achieving and maintaining their health goals.”

The Terraces of Westminster Village, as the new, three-building residential area will be known, offers an all-new living option nicknamed “hybrid homes,” Walker said. Several floor plans are available.

“These 54 new living options – 18 in each building – combine the best of a single-family home, because of their size and amenities, and apartment living, because residents will enjoy worry-free living, leaving the grounds care, monthly housekeeping service, and interior and exterior maintenance to us.”

The Terraces will be constructed at the site of the former IU Health Arnett clinic on property acquired by Westminster Village. The additional land is adjacent to existing Westminster facilities. Pre-sales have begun. Each building will have an enclosed parking garage with electric vehicle recharging stations, storage for residents, a multi-functional terrace at the top for outdoor enjoyment, and a host of amenities.

“Units will range in size from 1,655 square feet to 2,095 square feet,” Walker said. “Each will have 9-foot interior ceilings, a large balcony or patio, a four-season room and a gas log fireplace. Other perks include high-end countertops and flooring, washer and dryer, and multi-purpose kitchen island.”

Residents may also purchase a dining plan, additional housekeeping services, home security system, laundry services and other amenities, Walker said. “Gas cook tops, Jacuzzi tubs, heated bathroom floors, crown molding and custom closet built-ins are just a few. And because the homes are not yet built, residents can select lighting, countertops, cabinets, appliances and flooring.”

Opened in 1976 as a continuing care community and expanded and remodeled over the years, Westminster Village today is home to 350 residents who live in single-family houses, independent-living apartments, assisted living apartments and The Health Center.

Village amenities include extensive gardens, a wellness center, library, salon, and The Village Pub, which is open to residents and the public. The campus covers 42 acres.
