China has banned pork from six major U.S. producers, including two suppliers in Logansport. Hoosier Ag Today reports the suspensions are linked to the alleged use of the muscle-gain drug ractopamine. The information follows a notice on meatingplace.com from China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine to the U.S. Embassy's Office of Agricultural Affairs in Beijing.

Exports are suspended for Quality Pork Processors in Austin, Minesota, Triumph Foods in St. Joseph, Missouri, Tyson Fresh Meats in Perry and Storm Lake Iowa and Logansport Indiana, and Hormel Foods Corporation of Fremont, Nebraska. The cold storage facilities banned include Cloverleaf Cold Storage of Fairmont Minnesota, Frozen Assets Cold Storage of Chicago Illinois, Nor-Am Cold Storage of St Joseph Missouri, Millard Refrigerated Services in Edwardsville Kansas, Hanson Cold Storage Company of Logansport Indiana and Americold Logistics LLC of Freemont Nebraska.
