Indianapolis, Ind. — A 2,650 mile hike along the Pacific Coast trail. Emphasizing the role of wisdom. Mobile art projections on buildings and mountains. Producing viable business plans in five days. Creating feedback loops for disjointed organizations. A wayfinding smartphone app for the blind.
These are just some of the Big Ideas that the 18 speakers, announced yesterday, will share at TEDxIndianapolis 2014 on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Hilbert Circle Theatre in downtown Indianapolis. In keeping with the theme of this year's event, “Get Outside IN,” all of the speakers will focus on challenging assumptions and sharing creative, innovative approaches for the future of technology and entrepreneurship, education, and art and design in our city.
“Turning viewpoints inside out, that’s the goal of this year’s theme, Get Outside IN,” said Jim Walker, executive director of Big Car and the TEDxIndianapolis organizer. “We want your preconceptions to be turned upside down. We’re hoping to broaden your horizons and to connect you to experiences you have yet to imagine.”

Tickets for TEDxIndianapolis 2014 at Hilbert Circle Theatre are now on sale. Until Sept. 30, tickets are $69 ($79 with lunch) and can be purchased through www.tedxindianapolis.com/events. Beginning Oct. 1, tickets prices will increase to $79 and $89 respectively.
