New Brewery Founder Says Room For Growth Remains

Subscribe NowThe co-founder of a new central Indiana microbrewery believes Indiana's craft beer industry is continuing to grow at a high rate, but is still “light-years behind” others. Two Deep Brewing Co. will open Saturday in downtown Indianapolis. President Andy Meyer believes continued growth in the sector will depend on tap rooms, bars and restaurants making room for Indiana beer. The Brewers of Indiana Guild estimates there are approximately 80 breweries in Indiana.
Two Deep is located in a renovated building that used to house signage and paper supply businesses.
Meyer says the operation consists of a 15-barrel system, which he says is on the “medium-to-smaller” size of Indianapolis-area breweries.
He currently plans to divide tap room and distribution volumes evenly, but eventually hopes to move toward an 80-to-20 distribution-to-tap room sales ratio.
Meyer says the beer selection is focused on German-style varieties.
