Fabrication Company Expanding
An Anderson-based company is continuing to grow. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report CB Fabricating has boosted production capacity, added a small number of workers and a second shift without local tax abatement. Owner Chris Barkdull tells the publication he didn't feel the company could deliver on the hiring promises required by the tax abatement process.
The company completed a $2 million round of renovations last year, which includes computer-controlled cutting that allows for work during all hours.
New contracts with aquatics and agricultural companies have led to a steadily growing work force.
Barkdull says it remains challenging to find workers with the right kind of skills to handle the technology of the manufacturing industry.
