A ceremony is set this morning to mark an annual initiative involving thousands of youth entrepreneurs in Indianapolis. Mayor Greg Ballard will officially kick off Saturday's Indianapolis Lemonade Day by turning the downtown canal into “lemonade.” Last year, 20,000 children participated in the program throughout central Indiana. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Join Mayor Ballard, Inventor and entrepreneur Scott Jones, Co-Founder of Hoosier Momma KC Cranfill and Personal Finance Expert and Entrepreneur Peter Dunn on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at the Ohio Street Basin as they turn the canal into “lemonade” on the eve of Lemonade Day to celebrate youth entrepreneurship.

Presented by TCU, Ice Miller and ChaCha, Lemonade Day is a free Greater Indianapolis Area initiative designed to teach kids how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. Thousands of Lemonade Day participants will “open up shop” and set up their lemonade stands in their local neighborhoods, local supermarkets, Indy Parks and elsewhere on Lemonade Day, which is Saturday, May 17. Last year, 20,000 kids participated in Lemonade Day.

Come celebrate Lemonade Day, youth entrepreneurship and the yellowing of the canal, and enjoy a cup of lemonade donated by McAlister's Deli. The first thirty people to arrive will also receive a Lemonade Day 2014 t-shirt.

CARMEL, Ind. – On Saturday, May 17 Lemonade Day will be happening across greater Indianapolis and as a sponsor for the event, Carmel City Center will be one of the many locations where young entrepreneurs will have their stands set up around the project.

The children’s lemonade stands will be held from 1-3 p.m. at various locations throughout Carmel City Center. Lemonade Day is a national entrepreneurial educational children’s event brought to Indianapolis by Scott Jones. This unique program teaches kids how to start, own and operate their own business: a lemonade stand. The public is encouraged to patronize the lemonade stands.

Parents and children that are interested in setting up a stand at Carmel City Center are able to contact Jimia Smith at 317-660-3388 to secure one of the spots available around the center. Carmel City Center is located on the southwest corner of Rangeline Road and City Center Drive. Surface parking is available on plaza level (accessible from City Center Drive), in the underground garage (accessible from Range Line Road) and along Veterans Way located to the south of Carmel City Center.

Law firm Drewry Simmons Vornehm occupies 16,500 square feet of office space in Carmel City Center. Future phases of Carmel City Center include additional residential and commercial space as well as a boutique hotel.

Carmel City Center is the location for The Center for the Performing Arts, which includes a 1,600 seat world-class concert hall named “The Palladium,” a 500-seat theater named “The Tarkington” and a 200-seat black box theater. The Center Green in Carmel City Center is also the home of the Carmel Farmers Market. This pedestrian-based master plan development is located at the southwest corner of Range Line Road and City Center Drive (126th Street). The Monon Greenway runs directly through the project.
