A North Carolina-based grocery chain today will open its first Fort Wayne location. Earth Fare already has stores in Carmel and Noblesville.

May 6, 2014

News Release

What:

Earth Fare is opening its first Fort Wayne, IN location to the public on Wednesday, May 7. Preceding the opening, there will be behind-the-scenes special tours for the media on Tuesday, May 6 with additional media appointments and interviews the day of opening Wednesday, May 7 and May 8.

Who:

Nate Sutton, a local eighth grader, whose letter provided inspiration for Earth Fare to come to Fort Wayne, will speak at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Wednesday, May 7th at 7:45 am. In seventh grade, Nate’s class was given an assignment to write a letter to a company. Based on the dietary needs of his younger sister and his family’s visit to Earth Fare in Noblesville, Nate decided to write to Earth Fare. He researched the market and found compelling reasons for Earth Fare to come to town and specifically to locate on the north side, where there is a greater concentration of housing.

More:

Founded in Asheville, NC in 1975, Earth Fare’s goal is to connect communities and improve lives through food by offering real food for everyone. The Fort Wayne Earth Fare will offer fresh local and organic fruits and vegetables, a full-service meat, poultry and seafood department, a cheese department, and on-site bakery. The store will also make healthy eating convenient and affordable with its ready-to-go meal options from the grill, hot and salad bar and prepared food case.
