Berne, Ind. -- Poseidon Barge Corp. will be looking for 15 welders when the company hosts a hiring fair from 8 a.m. to noon May 10 at its new plant in Berne, 725 Parr Road.

The hirings stem from the company's move in Berne to a larger 72,180-square-foot facility, reduced outsourcing, and a new product launch. Poseidon, a sectional barge manufacturer headquartered in Fort Wayne, said it would spend $6.05 million on the building project when the expansion was announced in February.

The Berne welding jobs will pay between $14 and $22 an hour depending on skills and experience. Company benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k with a match, and paid vacation, holiday and personal days.

"For those eager to build a career in the skilled trades of welding and fabricating, we’d love to have you part of our team," said Poseidon Barge President Mary Habegger-Fox.

Poseidon, founded in 1986, produces multiple lines of portable section barges that can be used as temporary work platforms.
