Barnes & Thornburg LLP Agriculture and Food Processing Practice Group Co-Chair Bill Wales says the sectors are experiencing “unprecedented growth” over the last 10 years. He discussed the event on a recent edition of Inside INdiana Business Television. Wales says companies such as Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences and Westfield-based AgReliant Genetics, as well as institutions like Purdue University, can help take the industries to the “next level.”
Wales says Indiana also has a geographic advantage because of its location in the middle of the corn belt.
Speakers for Wednesday's event include Dow AgroSciences Chief Executive Officer Antonio Galindez, Purdue Dean of Agriculture Jay Akridge and Indiana Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann.
Presentations will focus on topics including plant science innovation, intellectual property and industry regulation.
The event runs from 12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Barnes & Thornburg's Indianapolis office on Meridian Street.
