Several Hoosier Schools High on National List

Four high schools in Indiana are ranked among the top 500 in the country by a national publication. The annual U.S. News and World Report Best High Schools list rates more than 19,400 schools. The top 15 in the state are:

1. Signature School in Evansville (21 Nationally)

2. Herron High School in Indianapolis (246 Nationally)

3. Zionsville Community High School (290 Nationally)

4. West Lafayette Jr./​Sr. High School (370 Nationally)

5. Carmel High School (519 Nationally)

6. Westfield High School (557 Nationally)

7. Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers (637 Nationally)

8. Fishers High School (732 Nationally)

9. Yorktown High School (877 Nationally)

10. Munster High School (899 Nationally)

11. Manchester Jr-​Sr High School (924 Nationally)

12. Plymouth High School (1050 Nationally)

13. Burris Laboratory School in Muncie (1257 Nationally)

14. Center Grove High School in Greenwood (1265 Nationally)

15. Carroll High School in Fort Wayne (1272 Nationally)

Of the Indiana charter schools ranked by the list, Signature School in Evansville placed 4th nationally and Herron High School in Indianapolis was 21st.

U.S. News and World Report says schools were ranked on testing performance compared to others in the state and college readiness.
