An event next week in Hammond will put a spotlight on the economic impact of cigar smokers. Organizers say the Midwest Smoke Out at the Horseshoe Casino attracts people from 27 states and three countries. This year's event will include cigar and tobacco shop owners along with craft brewers from northwest Indiana. The event started five years ago as a replacement for a similar cigar expo in Chicago, which ended its run several years ago.
