Angola, Ind. — Many might have heard about NASA rovers and at Trine University, you can see one up close during the 12th Annual Engineering Design Expo. The rover is one of 25 senior projects that visitors can see and learn more about.
Senior engineering students have worked in teams to produce a design project using their knowledge in a specific area, such as aerospace, bioprocess, chemical, civil, compute, electrical, environmental or mechanical engineering or design engineering technology. Some projects help area industries find solutions while others explore new ways to complete tasks and yet others more closely focus on helping others. Regardless of the project, all work to improve lives and make a difference. All projects will be on display from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, April 25, in Fawick Hall, home of the Allen School of Engineering & Technology.
“These students successfully completed real projects and found solutions while adhering to budgets and timelines,” said VK Sharma, dean of the Allen School. “Such projects demonstrate students' intellect and ability to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges. A look at their work shows these students are ready for careers and it's exciting to think about what they will accomplish in the future.”
“This annual event is made possible by the faculty and staff who work with our students, the generous sponsors of the team projects, the industrial partners and Trine's own Innovation One,” Sharma said. “I invite everyone to stop by Fawick Hall and see what the future holds.”
