News Release

PLYMOUTH, Ind. – Michigan-based Aggressive Manufacturing Innovations, Inc. (AMI) plans to open its second manufacturing facility in Plymouth, adding 200 jobs by 2016. This week, the Plymouth City Council approved a tax abatement for AMI's nearly $4 million dollar investment in the city.

Founded in 2000, AMI is a privately-held manufacturer of metal tubular assemblies and systems, providing components for the automotive, heavy truck, agriculture, and construction industries. With three other manufacturing facilities in Michigan, one in Mexico, and with partners in Germany, Austria, Malaysia, and China, the company has experienced tremendous growth in recent years.

Last year, AMI acquired an existing facility in Plymouth for manufacturing of parts specific to agricultural and heavy construction equipment. Approximately 20 management and production staff members work at that facility, which continues to grow. After experiencing initial success in Plymouth, AMI plans a second 96,000 sq. ft. facility in the city. That facility will be dedicated to the production of automotive tubular assemblies to service a number of new contracts with a leading car manufacturer. The project will include installation of $3,750,000 in manufacturing equipment and the addition of 50 employees in 2014, with the addition of up to 200 in the next two years.

Mayor Mark Senter said, “AMI is an innovative company with passionate leadership. We know that AMI considered several Midwestern locations for this facility, but, for the second time, they chose Plymouth. Great things are happening here and we're glad to have AMI as a part of it,” the Mayor also stated.
