Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the more than $4 million plan includes upgrades to water mains, roads and sidewalks, sewers and lighting. Mayor Anthony Copeland says the Main Street reconstruction is part of the “Herculean” Harbor redevelopment efforts underway to improve the Lake County city's core.
He believes the “little inconvenience” of construction will lead to “an ideal walkable community.”
While the work is underway, temporary parking lots will be set up to help customers reach nearby businesses.
