State Unveils Teacher Evaluation Results

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Department of Education has released results of staff performance evaluations for the 2012-2013 academic year. The system classifies teachers as “Highly Effective,” “Effective,” “Improvement Necessary” or “Ineffective.” More than 55,000 educators were assessed.
The data classify more than 26 percent of Hoosier teachers as “Highly Effective.” Over 61 percent received an “Effective” rating.
Nearly four-tenths of those evaluated were deemed “Ineffective” and more than two percent were placed in the “Improvement Necessary” category.

The evaluations considered student achievement and growth factors based on evaluations by principals or other leaders.
