INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Cancer Support Community of Central Indiana is pleased to announce that Eric Richards has been named President and CEO of the organization.
As President and CEO, Richards is charged with leading and carrying out the organization's strategic direction, overseeing fund development strategies, seeing the Legacy of Hope Campaign through, and providing cancer programming and services to the community to ensure no one faces cancer alone.
Richards comes to the Cancer Support Community after successfully leading the fund development and communications programs at Little Red Door Cancer Agency the last 5 years as Vice President of Development & Communications.
Of Richards, Board Chairman Don Courtney says, “Eric's proven fundraising record and significant increase in brand awareness at Little Red Door provide major opportunities for Cancer Support Community. He has built relationships with so many in the Central Indiana community and has a passion for bringing people together to accomplish common goals around helping those with cancer. The Board of Trustees is very excited about continuing and furthering the strong tradition of our organization under his leadership.”
Outside his professional career, Richards is the current President of the Indy Metro Rotary Club, active as a board member of the Indiana Artisan organization and is a part-time musician.

Cancer Support Community (CSC) was founded as The Wellness Community-Central Indiana in 1995. Approximately 200 individuals were served during 1995 and that number has increased to over 1000 individuals during 2013. Operating from the Paulsen Family Center, 5150 W. 71st St., Indianapolis, CSC is a member of a national movement of over 60 facilities worldwide and part of the largest provider of fee – free, oncology specific psychological and emotional support in the world.
