A new report is detailing the economic impact of Indianapolis-based Centaur Holdings LLC's two central Indiana racinos. The company says Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson and Shelbyville's Indiana Grand Racing & Casino each employs more than 1,000 workers. Executive Summary from Hoosier Park Racing & Casino 2013 Community Impact Report:

Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is owned and operated by Centaur Gaming, a privately held, Indiana-based company that is managed by Hoosiers, headquartered in Indianapolis and focused on bringing the entertainment and economic development benefits of gaming and horse racing to key communities throughout Indiana. The fully integrated gaming, racing, dining, and entertainment destination opened on June 1, 2008 as Indiana's first racetrack casino.

-Hoosier Park Racing & Casino's initial direct project investment totaled more than $360 million which includes more than $110 million for construction costs and a $250 million state license fee. As of June 1, 2013, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino has provided to the City of Anderson, Madison County, the State of Indiana, and the Indiana Horse Racing Industry more than $742 million in taxes, fees and incentive payments.

-Hoosier Park continues to grow and enhance Indiana horse racing locally and on a national level. Hoosier Park's latest racing investment is the Winner's Circle Pub, Grille & OTB facility located in downtown Indianapolis and FastBet Mobile, a state-of-the-art fully mobile race wagering platform. Both initiatives are geared toward sustaining the current fan base while introducing horse racing to a broader customer base.

-Admissions to Hoosier Park Racing & Casino reached more than 15 million in the first five years of casino and racetrack operations. Of this total, an estimated 70 percent of the visits originated from outside Madison County, Indiana. The sustained level of guests from outside the Madison County area has continued to provide direct and indirect material benefits to the community.

-Hoosier Park Racing & Casino has made $104 million in purchases from local and regional suppliers and $34.5 million of those in procurements came from minority and women owned businesses.

-Through local payroll, purchases, and payments to city and county government, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino has infused more than $298 million into the local economy in just its first five years of operation. This total does not include increased local spending from the Hoosier Park employee base or the increase in tourism to the Anderson/Madison county area.

-Hoosier Park Racing & Casino currently employs more than 1,000 team members who have earned more than $158 million in combined salaries, wages, benefits, and tips since the casino opening. The employee base is comprised of 49 percent females and 23 percent minorities (almost double the Madison County minority population percentage).

-Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is committed to meeting and exceeding mandated responsible gaming requirements.

-Hoosier Park institutes proactive policies, training, and careful procedures for responding to potential gambling problem issues.

-Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is a responsible corporate citizen with contributions to more than 250 local and regional organizations. In addition, the management team serves on the boards of more than 30 area organizations.

-Hoosier Park Racing & Casino enjoyed another awardwinning year, earning both national and area recognition for excellence in numerous casino and service-industry publications.

Indiana Grand Racing & Casino is owned and operated by Centaur Gaming, a privately held,

Indiana-based company that is managed by Hoosiers, headquartered in Indianapolis and

focused on bringing the entertainment and economic development benefits of gaming and horse racing to key communities throughout Indiana.

-Indiana Grand Racing & Casino's initial direct project investment totaled more than $500 million which includes more than $250 million for construction costs and a $250 million state

license fee. As of June 1, 2013, Indiana Grand Racing & Casino has provided to the City of

Shelbyville, Shelby County, the State of Indiana, and the Indiana Horse Racing Industry more

than $801 million in taxes, fees and incentive payments.

-Indiana Grand Racing & Casino continues to grow and enhance Indiana horse racing locally and on a national level. With the move to “One Breed, One Track” all Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse now runs exclusively at Indiana Grand's race course, making it the new home of Indiana’s richest race – the Indiana Derby.

-Admissions to Indiana Grand Racing & Casino reached more than 15 million in the first five years of casino and race course operations. A majority of these guests visit the property from

outside Shelby County. The sustained level of guests from outside the Shelby County area

has continued to provide direct and indirect material benefits to the community.

-Indiana Grand Racing & Casino has made $203 million in purchases from local and regional

suppliers and $59 million of those procurements came from minority and women owned businesses.

-Through local payroll, purchases and payments to city and county governments, Indiana Grand Racing & Casino has infused more than $561 million into the local and regional economy in just its first five years of operation. This does not include increased local spending from the Indiana Grand employee base or the increase in tourism to the Shelbyville/Shelby County area.

-Indiana Grand Racing & Casino currently employs more than 1,000 team members who have earned more than $158 million in combined salaries, wages benefits and tips since the casino opening. The employee base is comprised of 50 percent females and 11 percent minorities.
