Industrial Hemp Goes to Governor's DeskPosted: Updated:
A bill establishing guidelines for industrial hemp use in Indiana is on its way to Governor Mike Pence. The measure involves the production and cultivation of hemp for uses including plastics and fuel. You can view the full proposal by clicking here.
The plant can also be used in the food, paper and textile industries. Supporters say it would benefit the agricultural sector because hemp does not require pesticides and herbicides and is completely biodegradable.
State Senator Richard Young's (D-47) bill passed the Indiana Senate Thursday unanimously.
