Legislators Set For Final Hours of Session

Posted: Updated:

Indiana lawmakers are expected to wrap up the 2014 session of the General Assembly today, which is one day earlier than required. Measures involving the state's business personal property tax, expanded mass transit in some central Indiana counties and a prekindergarten study commission are set to be discussed. Senate Bill 176, which concerns mass transit referenda in six counties, was pared down yesterday to remove corporate funding requirements and light rail expansion.

The prekindergarten bill is slated to be heard in a House Conference Committee this morning. You can view the measure by clicking here.

Legislation that would set up state requirements to license growing and production of hemp for industrial purposes was approved Wednesday by the General Assembly.
