MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. – La Porte County Commissioner President Willie Milsap, the Northwest Indiana Workforce Board (NWIWB) Chair Adam Collins and NWIWB Treasurer Bob Schaefer announced today that the ribbon cutting for the new WorkOne office located at 302 W. 8th Street in Michigan City, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17th.
“The County Commission is very enthused about this joint venture to bring a WorkOne office to county-owned office space located in the heart of Michigan City,” said Milsap.
Linda Woloshansky, staff to the NWIWB, worked closely with the Commissioners on this exciting effort to bring these services to job seekers and employers. “The office will be open so that job seekers can receive assistance in their job search, learn about available employment opportunities, upgrade their skills, and become more competitive for positions in our local companies and throughout the region,” said Woloshansky.
Milsap also announced that new local office will offer workshops to help individuals with basic computer and customer skills, job search and interviewing skills and more on a scheduled basis.
