Academy Aims to 'Rev' Interest in STEMPosted: Updated:
An immersive educational program designed to prepare students for careers in the racing industry will begin this evening in Indianapolis. The Rev Racing Motorsports Academy, which was started in North Carolina, offers experiences related to the driving, pit crew and marketing aspects of racing. The science, technology, engineering and math-centered educational and physical training involves some big players in the industry. March 10, 2014
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Rev Racing Motorsports Academy will host their grand opening Monday, March 10th, from 6 - 8 pm at their new location of 5294 East 65th Street, Indianapolis, IN. Attendees of this reception will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of racecar simulators, get hands-on with motorsports/pit crew equipment, and interact with actual racecars.
Within the Rev Racing Motorsports Academy, participants, interns and supporters can experience firsthand the elements of a real life race shop. Through this immersive learning program, participants will also learn how a race shop functions and operates both internally and externally.
To give youth an interactive perspective into the motorsports industry, the Academy consists of a race shop, classroom, cafeteria, office space, two bandelero cars, two legend cars, go-karts, a junior dragster, computers and media production area, a state-of-the-art BILT by Agassi & Reyes weight equipment set-up, and pit crew equipment.
The Academy will offer camps throughout the summer educating youth about the motorsports industry through weeklong leadership development, healthy lifestyle, and financial literacy programs. One-Day-Experiences, seminars and after-school will also be available.
"Involvement in sports and entertainment saved my life. I vow to give the youth of our communities the same opportunity to rise up and achieve greatness," said Academy founder and NASCAR Rev Racing team owner Max Siegel.
With youth scholarships coming from donations, fundraising events, and the Max Siegel Inc. Youth Foundation, the Academy hopes to give aspiring youth of all backgrounds a chance at not only learning about motorsports, but also about what they are truly capable of.

The MSI Youth Foundation (MSIYF), founded by Max Siegel, is a not-for-profit that provides educational opportunities for our youth in the areas of leadership development, financial literacy and healthy lifestyles in the sports and entertainment industry.
