The Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce has named Tricia Bechman president. She has served as executive director of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce for more than a decade.

Seymour, Ind. -- The Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has announced the selection of a new President effective April 7th, following the retirement of current President, Bill Bailey. Tricia Bechman, Executive Director of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce for the past eleven years, will assume the leadership of the Seymour Chamber.
"We are very pleased with the reputation of our Chamber as evidenced by the caliber of candidates who showed interest in our President’s position," said Ray Eakins, Chamber board Chair. "Tricia brings to our Chamber an excellent background in chamber management, and membership and budget growth."
A graduate of Millikin University with a degree in Business Administration, Miss Bechman is also a graduate of the Indiana Chamber Academy and serves on the board of directors of the Indiana Chamber Executives Association.
"Starting almost six months ago, the Chamber’s Search Committee created a comprehensive and thorough process to advertise the position throughout the Midwest and review all the applications we received," said Don Luecke, Chamber Vice-Chair and co-chair of the Search Committee. "Tricia’s very successful experience at the Franklin Chamber and her accreditation from the Indiana Chamber Executives Association’s Chamber Academy will give us the professional skills our Chamber needs to meet the needs of our members and community in the future."
"Seymour is a vibrant community that I am excited to become a part," said Miss Bechman. "I look forward to working with the board of directors, the businesses and the individuals of the chamber and the community and building on the chamber’s successful eighty-three year history of programs, membership and community growth."
The Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1931. Ms. Bechman will become only the eighth President/CEO of the Chamber. The Chamber has a membership of 420 business and individual members.
