Columbus Baked Goods Plant to be SoldPosted: Updated:
The Georgia-based owner of a former Dolly Madison bakery facility in Columbus is attempting to sell it. Our partners at The Republic report the plant, which closed in 2012, is on the market with the condition that it cannot be purchased by a competitor and reopened as a commercial bakery. Flowers Foods owns the vacant property.
Production ended in November of 2012. Around 30 other Indiana operations that produced Hostess Brands Inc. brand products also closed at that time.
Last year, Hostess Brands LLC announced it would restart manufacturing in some plants, which included one in Indianapolis.
