The chief executive officer of Lafayette-based Wabash National Corp. (NYSE: WNC) will take part in a high-profile event this month focusing on transportation, energy and manufacturing. LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC), a diversified industrial manufacturer and North America's leading producer of semi-trailers and liquid transportation systems, today announced President and Chief Executive Officer Dick Giromini will participate in Forbes' inaugural Reinventing America Summit in Chicago March 26-28, 2014.

The invitation-only event will bring together more than 300 leaders from business, academia and government for a non-partisan discussion about the role of heartland innovation in the U.S. economy's recovery. The Summit will explore topics such as innovation, transportation, the energy boom, manufacturing and rail revolutions, reinventing finance and education and America's competitiveness.

“Our nation endured some debilitating economic and financial stresses in the past six years, which caused some significant challenges in American manufacturing,” Giromini said. “As the largest producer of American-made semi-trailers and liquid transportation systems, Wabash National supports reinvigoration of our nation's industries. I look forward to joining prominent leaders, innovators, and academics for what promises to be an enlightening event.”

Mr. Giromini will speak on a panel for the “(Re) Made in America: Inside the New Manufacturing Revolution” session. Other panelists include Michelle Gloeckler, senior vice president and general merchandise manager for Walmart, Rich Meeusen, chief executive officer for Badger Meter, and Charlie Peters, executive senior vice president for Emerson.
