The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has unveiled more details about a new charity event. Rev, which will be held at the speedway in May, will feature racing-inspired food and reigning IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon.

March 4, 2014

News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — World-class chefs and entertainers, and three-time and reigning IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon, are the latest additions to an exciting lineup for attendees of Rev, an inaugural charity event to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and led by Methodist Health Foundation and Indiana University Health.

Serving up IndyCar driver-inspired cuisine will be chefs Vic Vegas and Spike Mendelsohn, both having achieved fame through Bravo show Top Chef and Food Network's Next Food Network Star. The chefs will be on-site at the event to add unique twists to some of the favorite foods of IndyCar drivers, with samples available for those in attendance

National singer-songwriter and Indianapolis native John McLaughlin, along with Lockstar, a popular Midwest DJ, are also new additions to the event, where the performers lead a growing number of entertainment opportunities for those in attendance.

“We're extremely excited that one of the Midwest's favorite DJs, Lockstar, is teaming up with national recording artist London Rose and a host of other talented musicians to bring a highly energetic and unique DJ performance to Rev's inaugural event,” said Trevor Yager, Co-Chair of the Rev Special Events Executive Council.

Holding true to the historic IMS venue and the spirit of racing, Rev also welcomes three-time and reigning IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon of Target Chip Ganassi Racing and his wife Emma as honorary co-chairs of the event. The New Zealander's 33 Indy car victories make him the winningest active driver in the sport, with only drivers named Foyt, Andretti and Unser ahead of him on the all-time list.

“My wife Emma and I are really looking forward to our involvement in this special event,” Dixon said. “The relationship between IU Health Methodist Hospital and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a historic one, and what better way to celebrate it all than with great music and IndyCar-inspired cuisine – all in support of a good cause.”

Dixon's wife Emma also joins Rev as honorary co-chair. Emma excelled on a different kind of track, as a runner. As a previous Welsh and British 800-meter champion, Emma's successful running career now helps guide her husband's athleticism as a driver.

Funds raised will provide support for IU Health Statewide Trauma programs, including medical services for drivers and patrons of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway IU Medical Center.
