News Release

VINCENNES, Ind. – Gary Gentry, President and CEO of the Knox County Development Corporation (KCDC), has announced his intention to retire after 12 years of service to the organization. Gary is well known in economic development circles for his successful career spanning 24 years bringing new industry and expansion to southwest Indiana.

Whether working to recruit new industry, or assisting in the retention and expansion of existing businesses, Gentry refers to his economic development efforts as a “true labor of love.”

Following are just a few of Gary's credentials and areas in which he has been active:

-Masonic Lodge – Boonville, IN.

-Knox County Chamber of Commerce – ex-officio board member

-Indiana Economic Development Association Member

-Southwest Indiana Small Business Development Center Advisory Board

KCDC Board Chairman Mark Gerkin says that a search committee has been formed and is accepting resumes for a replacement through March 31st, but there is no specific timeline to hire someone.

Though Gary wants to retire sometime this year, he hasn't set a firm date in order to allow time for the search committee to find the “right person” to lead KCDC into the future.

Job description and information on applying for this position can be found on the KCDC web site @ www.kcdc.com/2014JobDescription.pdf
