Coworking Space Targets ‘Creative Class’

Grace Bonewitz of Eyedart Creative Studios, which is partnering on LaunchPad, says it is specifically designed for young entrepreneurs, sometimes in competing industries, to work together. She says Millennials have “gotten a bad wrap,” and believes they can be a key economic driver in Goshen. Twelve companies are currently using the space. In an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Bonewitz and Jesse Sensenig with LaunchPad tenant Goshen Brewing discuss the effort's growth. Sensenig says LaunchPad has “opened up opportunities” as his company moves forward on plans to create a brew pub in an old Northern Indiana Public Service Co. power plant.
Bonewitz says demand for the space was sparse at first. Eyedart partnered with the Goshen Chamber of Commerce to re-organize the space and improve outreach. LaunchPad is now 65 percent occupied. She says the effort's goal is to “bridge the gap between the coffee shop and the leased office space.”
LaunchPad is located on the second floor of the Goshen Chamber of Commerce's office. Other partner organizations include the North Central Indiana Small Business Development Center, Michiana Network for Entrepreneurs and Elevate Ventures.
