COLUMBUS, IND. – Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) recently named Cathy Buening-Griffin Vice President, Business Process Transformation and Information Technology (IT) System Integration.

In her new role, Buening-Griffin will be leading the Orchestration Roadmap Initiative (ORM). The Cummins Leadership Team launched the ORM initiative to plan, develop and implement an integrated set of business and IT programs that will serve as the backbone of Cummins’ business processes in the future.

“This initiative is strategically critical to the company and Cathy is uniquely qualified to lead it,” said Lisa Yoder, Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing. “Cathy has been with Cummins for more than 23 years and has deep experience in a range of different business units and functions across the company. She has had global responsibility and has a keen understanding of the role of business processes and IT in improving the quality and efficiency of our work. We are pleased to have Cathy in this newly created role and she will no doubt help Cummins derive increased business value from our strategic IT investments.”

Buening-Griffin will lead a dedicated team who will manage the linkages and interdependencies between critical business process and IT programs, such as Enterprise Resource Planning, Product Lifecycle Management, DBU Next Gen, Business Operations Ledger Transaction and Core Business Data Management.

Her responsibilities will include directing the overall initiative including schedule management and issue resolution. In addition, Buening-Griffin will also be working across these programs to ensure end-to-end business processes and business capabilities are rationalized and improved, and will work with IT to reduce IT complexity and costs across the programs.

Prior to this new role, Buening-Griffin was the Executive Director of Marketing & Sales for the Cummins Components Group. In this role she had global responsibility for product planning, customer interface processes or IAM (integrated account management) and strategic marketing.

Buening-Griffin first joined Cummins in corporate finance where she spent four years in various aspects of planning, forecasting, reporting and then analytical finance supporting new products and acquisitions/divestitures. In 1995, Buening-Griffin joined the purchasing group for the engine business. Buening-Griffin then made another functional change into marketing and sales leading the global Construction business from 2005-2008 in the MidRange portion of EBU. In 2008, Buening-Griffin moved to the PowerGen business where she ran the Consumer business of 3-100kW generators in Recreational Vehicle, Marine, Commercial Mobile and Residential applications.
