DeKalb Schools Expanding New Tech ProgramPosted: Updated:
The DeKalb County Central United School District is expanding its New Tech program. KPC News in Kendallville reports the district will institute middle- and elementary-school levels beginning next school year. The DeKalb Central board approved the move Tuesday.
The district began its New Tech High School in 2012. The Talent Initiative in Fort Wayne awarded the school system a $410,000 grant to help fund the project.
The New Tech network is a project-based education model that includes internships and opportunities for college credits through dual credit courses.
