The Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau is expected to announce the winning bids next week for a multi-million dollar sports field complex. The organization received more than two dozen bids from contractors. Our partners at Eyewitness News report the project could be complete next summer. The total cost of the project will be around $15 million.

CVB Director Bob Warren tells Eyewitness News the fields are expected to have up to a $16 million economic impact on the area.

Construction could begin as early as next month.

The complex will consist of soccer, baseball and softball fields. The organization plans to name the winning bidders at its meeting next Wednesday.
