MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Simon Property Group, the world's largest retail real estate company, and University Park Mall are proud to announce the recent hire of Ryan Ginty as the mall’s new general manager. In this role, Ginty will be responsible for managing all day-to-day operations, leasing, maintenance, business development, budgeting, and monthly analysis/reporting, along with maintaining community, tenant, and public relations.
Ginty has nearly five years of management experience with Simon Property Group, and most recently served as the General Manager at Southern Hills Mall in Sioux City, Iowa. Simon Property Group acquired the shopping center shortly before Ginty joined the team, and he was integral in leading that transition. Prior to taking his position at Southern Hills Mall, Ginty served as mall manager at Paddock Mall and Gaitway Plaza in Ocala, Florida.
“Ryan is a very talented individual with several years of successful leadership experience,” said Audrie Thompson, regional vice president of Simon Property Group. “He has extensive knowledge of our industry, plus the drive and energy necessary to run such an important property in our portfolio.”
University Park recently announced that the center will undergo an extensive renovation this year, which will include new flooring, light fixtures, color scheme, and a redesigned Dining Pavilion, which will seat 546 guests. In addition, all restrooms will be updated, and family restrooms and nursing rooms will be added.
“This is a period of exciting growth and change at University Park, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team here,” said Ginty, a native Hoosier who graduated from Indiana University. “I am looking forward to working with the staff, getting to know our retailers and shoppers, and engaging myself with the community.”
