Construction is set to begin this week on a $1 million zip line course in Anderson. White River Zip Lines is scheduled to complete the attraction in April. The company says the course will be one of the largest in the Midwest. February 11, 2014

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – This spring, Indianapolis thrill seekers will bravely ascend 75-foot launch towers, traverse teetering sky bridges, strap into a harness and whiz up to 1,000 feet across eight different zip line runs situated on what will be one of the largest zip line courses in the Midwest.

Construction on the $1 million course begins this week and is expected to be completed by April 2014.

White River Zip Lines is the latest adrenaline-inducing attraction to come from the same team behind White River Paintball, one of the country's largest paintball facilities, and Indy Scream Park, the top-rated indoor/outdoor haunted attraction.

Riders will be capable of reaching speeds of 25 mph, and several of White River Zip Lines’ runs will give them the unique chance to race side-by-side against friends or enjoy a solo flight.

Indianapolis first caught zip line fever during Super Bowl XLVI when the city erected a temporary zip line in the heart of downtown. Intrigued by the overwhelming popularity of the Super Bowl Village zip line, Benjamin Nagengast, CEO of White River Zip Lines, sought to bring Indianapolis a permanent, world-class zip line course.

“We heard the stories of people getting in line at Super Bowl Village at 5:30 a.m. and waiting more than seven hours for a single ride and said, 'It's great that so many people were excited to try the zip line, but it's also kind of crazy that they waited so long for a single ride,'” said Nagengast. “That's when we decided to gather some of the best minds in the industry to design and build a massive, state-of-the-art course that would be a permanent attraction in Indianapolis.”

First-time zip liners needn't worry about their lack of experience. All riders who arrive at the course will be transported via all-terrain vehicles to the White River Zip Lines “Ground School” training area where they will participate in a brief safety demonstration before making their first run.

White River Zip Lines will accommodate individual thrill seekers, families, corporate retreats and groups of all sizes for any special event.

Details about White River Zip Lines' grand opening will be made available in the coming weeks. For more information visit http://whiteriverziplines.com, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for exclusive updates.
