News Release

Fort Wayne, Ind. — Brigadoon Fitness, a national distributer of commercial fitness equipment and accessories, announced a partnership with Kristi O'Brien. O'Brien is a professional golfer on the Symetra Tour (LPGA Developmental Tour) and competitor on the Golf Channel’s “Big Break Florida” reality show.

“I am very excited to partner with a company like Brigadoon Fitness, who is as passionate about fitness as I am,” said O'Brien. “Fitness training is an important part of my daily routine and helps me maintain my endurance and strength on the golf course.”

O'Brien graduated in 2012 from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) after winning five tournaments over her collegiate career and being named Indiana State Player of the Year in 2011. She turned professional in 2013, and will compete on the Symetra and Cactus Tours in 2014 after advancing to Stage II of the LPGA Q-School.

“The best golfers in the world recognize the benefits of employing a fitness routine that incorporates cardio, stretching and weight training,” said Kevin Feldman, Director of Sales & Marketing for Brigadoon Fitness. “Kristi's passion for fitness, Fort Wayne roots and commitment to excellence, make her a terrific ambassador for Brigadoon Fitness. We are proud to partner with Kristi and support her as she continues to chase her dreams.”

As part of the partnership, O'Brien will wear the Brigadoon Fitness logo on her outerwear during all tournaments and events. She will also support and participate in Brigadoon Fitness sponsored events and initiatives throughout the year and will be featured in external communications and marketing materials. O'Brien will also participate in the Hotel Fitness Championship Pro-Am, part of the PGA TOUR Web.com Finals.

Additionally, O'Brien is one of 12 women golfers competing for cash, prizes and an LPGA TOUR exemption on the Golf Channel's reality golf competition, “Big Break Florida,” premiering February 24th at 9:00 PM ET.

O'Brien's life was changed forever in June 2009. Driving back to college from her parent’s house in Fort Wayne, she was involved in a severe car accident on Interstate 69. Kristi's car rolled several times and was totaled. Amazingly, she walked away from the accident. Her golf clubs in her trunk didn’t receive a scratch. The car accident, which happened during the summer after her freshman year of college, helped her realize just how much golf meant to her.

“That accident changed my life,” said Kristi. “I realized that life is too short and you shouldn’t live life wondering, 'What if.' We have one life to live and I’m going to live life with no regrets. I will always remember what the accident has taught me. It has made me appreciate all my friends and family and the life that was given to me. God gave me this talent on the golf course, and now I’m going to use it to the best of my ability.”
