IU Planning For Future of Wishard Site
Indiana University is moving forward with plans to redevelop the former Wishard Hospital site in Indianapolis. The university's board of trustees could approve several items this week, including a $25 million project to renovate the Wishard/Dunlap Building to create more lab space for the IU School of Medicine. Plans call for a new 80,000 square-foot, four story structure north of Riley Hospital for Children on the IUPUI campus.
IU says that project is expected to be funded through state appropriations.
This week's trustees agenda also includes the potential design approval for a a new Regenstrief Institute Building that will replace the Krannert/Bellflower structure on the former Wishard campus.
The possible approval of the demolition of several Wishard facilities is also on the agenda, which can be viewed by clicking here.
The IU trustees meet Friday at IUPUI.
Wishard Hospital was replaced this year by the Eskenazi Hospital.
