The Indiana Gaming Commission says monthly casino revenue fell in January. The agency says adjusted gross revenue last month decreased to $152.3 million, compared to nearly $192 million during the same period a year earlier. Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson and Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville joined the state's other 13 venues in reporting decreases. Many of the dips were boosted by state-approved “free play” deductions.

Horseshoe Casino Hammond's adjusted gross revenue of $30 million in December is down from $34.6 million during the same period in 2012. Horseshoe Southern Indiana tallied revenue close to $19 million, compared to more than $21.1 million.

Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg reported the largest monthly year-over-year decrease. Last month, it took in more than $14.3 million in revenue, compared to $28.3 million during January 2013.

Horseshoe Cincinnati has affected revenue in the region since it opened early last year, including the other two venues near Cincinnati, Rising Star in Rising Sun and Belterra Casino in Florence. Both recorded decreases.
