Indianapolis-based Ossip Optometry is planning to relocate its headquarters to Fishers and add nearly five dozen jobs by 2018. The company wants to invest $3 million into the project and has been approved for tax abatement from the town council. Feb. 4, 2014

News Release

FISHERS, Ind. – With approval of an economic development agreement at Monday night's Town Council meeting, Ossip Optometry is set to relocate its central business operations headquarters to Fishers, and build a state-of-the-art flagship Optometry Center. This is the third economic development agreement secured by Fishers Advantage in 2014, and will retain 15 and relocate 54 jobs, as well as create 59 new jobs by 2018.

“Ossip Optometry is an innovative leader in its industry, and we celebrate the quality careers coming to Fishers,” said Town Council President John Weingardt. “Not only does this agreement equate to investment in our local economy and jobs, but also the continuation of top-of-the-line eye care for our community.”

Ossip plans to purchase and relocate the corporate headquarters to 9795 Crosspoint Blvd, with 46 existing jobs moving to Fishers and creating 40 new positions by 2018. The flagship location will open at 7864 Crosspoint Commons – consolidating the current Fishers office and an additional area eye care facility. The new Ossip Crosspoint Clinic will retain 15, relocate 8 and create 19 new jobs by 2018.

“Ossip Optometry is excited to continue its legacy of top-notch eye care in Fishers, where we are fortunate to have opened our second location,” said Dr. Gregg Ossip. “We have grown as Fishers has grown, and we think moving our corporate headquarters and planting our flagship eye care clinic in Fishers is a great partnership with a progressive, growing community. The Town has been extremely helpful and forward thinking through this process.”

The economic development agreement includes a two-year vacant building tax abatement on the property located at 7864 Crosspoint Commons and the waiver of certain development fees. Ossip Optometry intends to invest over $3 million in property and equipment.
