BLACKFORD COUNTY, Ind. - Reflective Industries announced today the opening of its third location in Indiana. The glass recycling company plans to invest $4 million and add 20 jobs in Hartford City over the next three years.
"Indiana is a great place to do business," said Reflective Industries President Steve Bowles. "We are thrilled to invest in Hartford City and add this facility to our nationwide network as part of our long-term strategy."
The Reflective Group of Companies has thirteen facilities across North America. The company recycles post-consumer and post-industrial glass using a process of cleaning, sorting, crushing, and sizing to meet the customer's fitness for use criteria. The end product, cullet, is sold to customers in a variety of industries including fiberglass, container, and bead manufacturing.
"We offer a warm welcome to Reflective Industries and look forward to their great success in Hartford City," commented Mayor Ben Hodgin. "It is exciting to add a glass recycler to our community which already has significant recycling operations including metal, paper, and plastic."
Reflective Industries purchased an existing building in the Blackford Industrial Park. The company is in the process of concurrently installing its first two production lines, and will continue to add equipment and make building improvements over the coming years. The other two facilities in Indiana, Dunkirk and Shelbyville, will continue operating as important parts of Reflective Industries' operation.
"Helping grow companies that already have a presence in Indiana is a priority for all of us at the state and local levels," remarked State Representative Kevin Mahan - House District 31. "Adding this Reflective Industries facility to Blackford County is a big win for the community, especially given the growth potential of the recycling sectors in the coming years."
