FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Music Education Association returns to Fort Wayne for its annual statewide conference from January 23-25 at the Grand Wayne Convention Center.

For three days, music teachers, professors and students from across Indiana will participate in various instructional classes, workshops and performances. The group will also hold events at the Embassy Theatre, Allen County Public Library and First Presbyterian Church.

This year, IMEA will host a NEW “Celebration of Music” concert series, which features performances from talented state ensembles, including the Indiana University Singing Hoosiers, Ball State Symphony Band, DePauw University Chamber Choir, Butler University Jazz Band and several high school groups. Fort Wayne citizens and visitors are invited to watch these performances this weekend – many of which are FREE.

The 2014 IMEA conference will bring in more than 3,000 attendees and an estimated $777,148 in direct spending into Fort Wayne's economy.
