Carroll County EDC Announces New Industrial Park

DELPHI, Ind. – The Carroll County Economic Development Corporation added a new asset in its mission to bring more jobs and investment to Carroll County. The Carroll County EDC announced today that it has secured an option on 108 acres in Liberty Township, just north of Camden.
The Liberty Industrial Park is on the Winamac Southern Railroad and less than three miles from the four-lane Hoosier Heartland Highway.
According to Laura Walls, Executive Director of the Carroll County EDC, the highway and rail access meet a company's logistics needs. “Liberty Industrial Park is ideally situated between Indianapolis and Chicago with four-lane access to Ft. Wayne and Port of Toledo. 75 percent of the US and Canadian populations are within a one-day drive,” Walls said.
“Securing a rail-served site in Carroll County has been a high priority for the last 12 months. We are fortunate to have great partners in Dean and Connie Cripe, the Town of Camden and the Camden Flora Rail Corridor Commission,” Walls added.
The Town of Camden will provide water and wastewater service to the site. Carroll White REMC is the electric provider and NIPSCO is the natural gas supplier.
The Cripes cited sense of community pride and hopefulness for the future of Camden and Carroll County as reasons they decided to make their land available for industrial development. Dean Cripe said, “Connie and I feel fortunate to have been entrusted as the stewards of this property, and in turn, we are entrusting that the EDC will find a company who will be a good neighbor for those of us who continue to live here. We are proud to live and farm here and we think companies will feel the same way. The Liberty Industrial Park gives companies options when considering Carroll County and we want to help make their decision to locate here easier.”
